Member Center

Joining CPLA gives you opportunities—nationally, locally and in California—to participate in advocacy, learning and networking.

Our Members

CPLA keeps you current on current legislation that affects the funding and administration of local public libraries as well as best practices for library trustees and commissioners, Friends groups and library foundations. While in most, if not all local jurisdictions, library services are completely discretionary, the community is very aware of the value of libraries and continues to support them.

Joint CLA/CPLA Membership

Two premier statewide library organizations are offering you a unique dual membership. By joining the California Library Association (CLA) as a supporting member, library support groups can also benefit from an annual membership in California Public Library Advocates (CPLA), both for a single $45 fee.

Awards

CPLA Awards are given to members, supporters, Friends and Foundations as a part of our ongoing effort to improve quality services. These awards are usually presented  at a CPLA Event held at the California Library Association Conference.

CALIX

California Library Information EXchange is the listserv for California library issues sponsored by the California Library Association in cooperation with UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Science. This list focuses on issues of interest to library staff and library supporters in California in general and on issues relating to the California Library Association in particular. The association uses it as a vehicle of communication for its members. The list is open to all subscribers, but the intent is to be a forum for public, academic, school and special librarians in the state of California. Discussion is welcome on issues pertinent to the California library community.
