CPLA keeps you current on current legislation that affects the funding and administration of local public libraries as well as best practices for library trustees and commissioners, Friends groups and library foundations. While in most, if not all local jurisdictions, library services are completely discretionary, the community is very aware of the value of libraries and continues to support them.
Join or renew your membership in CPLA, and pay the lower price for the workshop you are attending.
The CPLA Advocator keeps you up to date on what's happening in public library advocacy statewide. You see how libraries across the state are meeting challenges and providing services to their patrons. The newsletter keeps you posted on advocacy and fundraising activities and legislation that affect your local library.
Awards are given to members, supporters, friends and Foundations as a part of our ongoing effort to improve quality services. The awards are presented annually at a CPLA Dinner held at the California Library Association Conference. This year the donference will be held in Santa Clara, CA, November 9 - 11, 2018; the CPLA Awards Dinner will help kick off the conference on Friday, November 9.
CAlifornia Library Information eXchange is the listserv for California library issues sponsored by the California Library Association in cooperation with UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Science. This list focuses on issues of interest to library staff and library supporters in California in general and on issues relating to the California Library Association in particular. The association uses it as a vehicle of communication for its members. The list is open to all subscribers, but the intent is to be a forum for public, academic, school and special librarians in the state of California. Discussion is welcome on issues pertinent to the California library community.
